Where to go and what you can do online
Most of what people bring to me starts at some office. This page is a plain signpost to the official portals, so you do not have to find them through a search engine where paid middlemen outrank the real thing. None of these are my partners and I am paid nothing for any of these links.
Residence, visas and obligations
The Information Portal for Foreigners is run by the Ministry of the Interior. It is the only official source on residence and the only place to book an appointment.

Pensions and social insurance
Every year you work here counts. The record is often incomplete and since January 2026 the overview is no longer posted to you.

Tax
If you are a Czech tax resident you file here, even when part of your income comes from abroad.

Health insurance
Whether you are in the public system or have to buy commercial cover is decided by your residence and your work, not your nationality.

Without it you will not get far. You probably already have bank identity and do not know it.

How to check anyone who advises you about money
That includes me. Nobody who offers you financial products should mind you looking them up in a register.

Questions people actually ask
Why are there no paid services for foreigners here?
Because you do not need them. Everything on this page is free and official. Paid middlemen live off the fact that forms are hard to find, not off being able to arrange anything faster.
Can you come to the office with me?
Yes. I do accompany people to offices and to banks, and I say the price up front based on the scope. I am not an interpreter or a lawyer, and I cannot represent you in residence proceedings.
How do I know a portal is official?
Look at the domain. State portals end in gov.cz or sit on the domain of the specific authority, such as cssz.cz or financnisprava.cz. If someone sends you elsewhere and wants money for filling in a form, be careful.
