I am Ricardo Acuy and I work with people who moved to the Czech Republic, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. I do planning, not product sales. We start from where you want to get to and what stands in the way, and only at the end look at what to use. You get a written plan and we go over it once a year. Whenever something needs arranging, you can rely on me.

About me
Ten years in hospitality came before finance, from guest relations up to running a team. It taught me to listen for what someone actually needs and to watch the details the whole thing later rests on.
I grew up between cultures. My father is Peruvian, my mother Czech, and the family line runs back to Germany and China. I have travelled around 28 countries and lived in six of them, with work along the way in China and the Netherlands. I work in Czech, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
Most of this job is making things understandable. I can take a contract apart and explain it in the language you think in, whether you were born here or arrived last year.
How I work
Planning, not product salesA product is the last step, not the first. I need to know where you are heading and what is holding you back.
What you get
A written financial plan
A document that says where you are heading, what moves you there and in what order. Not a list of contracts, an order of steps.
A review once a year
We sit down over the plan and go through what changed. If your life turns over in the meantime, call me sooner.
One person for all of it
Mortgage, insurance, investments and pension through one person. You do not have to join it up yourself and nobody passes you around.

A first meeting, no strings
Fifteen to thirty minutes. You talk, I ask. Nothing is signed and I want nothing from you.

Income, obligations, what you already hold and what you expect from life. I read the contracts you already have.

You get it in writing, including what I recommend against and why.

Doing it and reviewing it
Whatever you decide to do, I arrange. After that we meet once a year.
Questions people actually ask
How are you paid?
By commission from the institutions I work with, not out of your pocket. Commissions here are supervised by the Czech National Bank and audited closely, and I am not allowed to charge a client for the advice itself. Separately I do offer paid services that have nothing to do with financial products, such as help finding your feet in Prague or coming with you to an office where it helps.
Are you independent or tied?
I am a tied agent of BEplan finanční plánování s.r.o. and I hold all the registrations listed in the legal section at the bottom of this page.
So what does it cost me in the end?
Some investments and some loans do carry fees. They fund the institution's margin and part of that is my remuneration. We always set them together and it depends on the size and the type of the deal. That is exactly what the fee calculator is for: put my numbers in and see the effect yourself.
What if I change my mind?
You can decide at any point not to continue. Nothing about a first conversation obliges you to anything.
Which languages do you work in?
Czech, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
How can I check who you are?
Through the register of the Czech National Bank, which I link to from this page. The examination certificates themselves are in the qualifications section.
I already have something with a bank or another advisor.
Then keep it, if it does its job. Or we compare the conditions and look at whether there is something with the same cover for less, a better expected return, or whether the product suits your situation at all. Sometimes the answer is that you should leave it exactly as it is.
What does the first meeting look like?
Fifteen to thirty minutes online, or in person in Prague 7. You talk, I ask questions, nobody signs anything.
